About MacBorn

MacBorn is a place where I write about Mac apps I use and find interesting. The reviews are based on my own experience with the apps, including what I liked and what I think could be better.

My name is Simon. I am a software developer and the founder of Solo Tuna, where I build native Mac apps I want to use myself. Working on my own apps makes me curious about how other Mac apps work and what makes them enjoyable to use.

How I review apps

I focus on how an app works in everyday use and whether it solves the problem that made me try it. I do not try to cover every feature just to make a review longer.

I usually buy apps myself or use a free version available to everyone. If a developer gives me an app to review, I will make that clear. Developers do not approve my conclusions before an article is published.

If I write about one of my own apps, I will always make that clear.
